Shift Kits

The English Language Arts (ELA) Shift Kits were designed in partnership with ISBE/ISU ELA Content Specialists. There are nine separate kits based on Illinois Learning Standards (ILS) as well as one administrator's kit.

The shifts are dependent upon one another.  That is to say that as students engage with complex text (Shift One), they extract and employ evidence (Shift Two) in order to build knowledge (Shift Three).  Each kit below provides educators and administrators with foundational materials such as presentations inclusive of notes and facilitator guides, research, suggested resources and websites.
